Giving back to our community’s vulnerable cats and dogs

Nandi’s tag line “Healthy Food. Healthy Pet. Healthy Planet” is more than just marketing.  Nandi wants to make the world a better place, starting with South Africa and the United States.  In addition to our several green initiatives, we also look out for pets in our surrounding community.  The main way we do this is through our pet treat and pet food donation program.  Nandi has partnered with a number of animal rescue and shelter organizations in South African and the US states to provide our premium, grain-free treats to their residents.  In 2019 alone we donated R250,000 ($17,500) worth of freeze-dried treats, jerky, chews, tendons and bones to area organizations. Going forward, Nandi will be pledging 1% of its sales to animal shelters in the US and South Africa.

One of our favorites is The 9^th Day Rescue, Rehabilitation and Rehoming Centre in South Africa, which cares for abused, neglected and abandoned animals by providing surgeries and other rehabilitative therapies.  They provide shelter in kennels and in foster homes and arrange adoptions for the pets in their care.  Another favorite donation-recipient is the Pennsylvania SPCA. The PSPCA’s mission is to protect animals, prevent cruelty and to improve the health and quality of life throughout Pennsylvania through a dedicated team that has boots on the ground 365 days a year throughout the state.

We have met so many wonderful organizations who are working for the good of animals in our area through this program and we are always looking to meet more.  It’s a pleasure to be able to provide the pets rescued by these organizations with our premium pet treats and pet food.
